Karen Anderson

Clinical Director

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

She works with couples, families and has a special interest in working with adolescents.  According to Karen "I chose to do this work because I believe that every human being has the potential to live a happy, healthy life.  I strive to be a good listener who does not judge and can walk beside you through your pain and struggles." 

Areas of specialization: 
Developmental and adjustment issues, family and couples therapy, depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss.

Carolyn Larson


Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

She works with clients of all ages and has an interest and special training working with children from birth to 5.

Areas of specialization: 
Trauma focused care, attachment therapy, counseling for families and couples, depression and anxiety disorders.

Sandra Ziegler

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

She provides counseling to couples, families, and individuals.  She believes in the systemic view of therapy where both society and family play an important part in shaping who we become as people. 

Areas of specialization: 
Sandy works with a variety of theoretical models including, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Play Therapy.  She believes that helping people understand the positive changes that can be made in their lives can give them hope for a better future.

Mary Hendrickson

Licensed Practical Clinical Counselor

She specializes in therapy with young children and families who struggle with attachment and emotional regulation issues, but also enjoys seeing adolescents and adults. 

She has extensive experience in preschool day treatment working with at risk populations.

Interests include early childhood development and mental health, the impact of trauma on development, attachment and  DC:0-3R assessment. 

Theoretical models and interventions that inform Mary's practice include Attachment Theory, Developmental Repair Model, Relational Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

Julie Smith

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Julie joined Lee Carlson Center in 2003.

She provides counseling and psychotherapy for individuals and groups.  She is a therapist and the On-Site Supervisor at Bridgeview, our adult drop-in center.  As a therapist at Lee Carlson Center, she works with adolescents, young adults, and adults.  Julie facilitates multiple therapy groups at Bridgeview including men's and women's anger management and symptom management.

Areas of specialization:
Serious and persistent mental illness, self-esteem, anger management, depression, anxiety, and cognitive-behavior therapy.

Paul Hildebrandt

Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist

Paul joined Lee Carlson Center in 1986.

He has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults.  Paul is skilled in working with individuals with disabilities and those adjusting to traumatic events. 

Areas of specialization: 
Developmental and adjustment issues, family therapy, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and grief and loss.
