Clinical Approach
Julie provides counseling and psychotherapy for individuals and groups. She is a therapist and the Supervisor at Bridgeview, our adult drop-in center. As a therapist at Lee Carlson Center, she has experience working with a variety of individuals, but is currently focusing on working with adults and young adults who are experiencing serious and persistent mental illness. She has been with Lee Carlson Center for 14 years and has worked as a clinician for 10 years. Her style of counseling is focused on self-exploration and increasing an individual's level of understanding around their current life circumstances, as well as their behaviors and reactions to those circumstances.

Clinical Interests
Julie is trained in DBT and is eclectic regarding approach often incorporating CBT, DBT and a person centered approach. Her areas of specialization include: serious and persistent mental illness, self-esteem, anger management, DBT, depression, anxiety and CBT.

Hobbies
Julie enjoys traveling, taking road trips and spending time with her puppy.

Clinical Approach
Kari specializes in solution focused, strengths based and relationship based therapy with children, adolescents, and their families. She works with children and youth, ages 5-15 experiencing social and emotional regulation issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, trauma, attachment issues as well as working with family system issues. Kari graduated from Augsburg College with her master’s degree in multicultural clinical social work in 2013.

Kari obtained her certificate in Holistic Health from St. Catherine’s University May 2017 and is a registered yoga teacher. Other areas of specialization include mind/body connection, holistic health, nutrition and yoga.

Beliefs About Therapy
Lisa believes in having a safe space that is supportive to allow clients to work on their recovery. She likes sharing with others everything that Bridgeview can offer in order to enhance their recovery and feel accepted. Lisa wants adults with SMI/SPMI to know that there is a place where they can come for support, resources, and to socialize.

Clinical Interests
Rachel has worked in the housing realm on both the community level and the individual level. During her time with an affordable housing agency she was able to write a grant to fund 50% of a housing project that would create more independent living options for individuals with disabilities. In her first two positions following her BSW, she worked with clients on an individual level, assisting them with navigating through their personal housing searches.

Hobbies

Clinical Approach
Lindsey takes a very client-centered approach. She believes that each client benefits from sorting out the thoughts that clutter their sense of purpose and she takes a narrative approach in helping clients rescript their stories and identify strategies to overcome obstacles. She incorporates many components of CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing along the way.

Lindsey has a particular interest in women’s issues. She has volunteered as a sexual assault advocate and co-facilitated a sexual assault survivor’s support group at St. Cloud State University in the past. She also has many years of experience working with adults with SPMI and is currently completing training in DBT.
