How do I start therapy?
Getting started takes two simple steps.
Fill out our short new client form online, or call us at 763.780.3036, whichever is easier for you. We’ll verify your insurance, match you with a therapist, and get you scheduled, often within the same week.
Before your first visit, you’ll complete intake paperwork through our secure patient portal so your first session can focus on you, not forms.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans, including HealthPartners, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UCare, Medical Assistance (Medicaid), and Medicare.
If you don’t have insurance, we also offer a sliding fee scale based on income and self-pay options, so cost is never a reason to go without care.
Call us and we’ll verify your specific coverage before your first appointment.
How long does therapy take?
There’s no set timeline for your mental wellbeing. Proper care depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific challenge; others build an ongoing relationship with their therapist over months or years, the way you would with a doctor or dentist. You and your therapist will check in regularly on your progress and adjust your plan together.
We take your mental health seriously, and we are dedicated to meeting you wherever you are on your mental health journey. We encourage you to give therapy at Lee Carlson Center a try.
What is the cost?
Cost depends on your insurance coverage and the services you need. For clients with insurance, you’re typically responsible for your plan’s standard copay or coinsurance. For clients without insurance, or those on Medical Assistance, we offer a sliding fee scale based on income, so care stays accessible regardless of your financial situation.
Do you offer telehealth or remote therapy?
Yes! Telehealth now makes up 50% of all our sessions, and it’s available statewide with the same insurance coverage as in-person visits. It’s a private, convenient option, especially for clients in smaller or rural communities who want quality care without the drive or the added visibility of an in-person waiting room.
